Saturday night (Eurovision) fever :)

It was a big and event-full Saturday for Europe. You see the Eurovision song contest was on and people (at least in my country) stayed in, ordered some pizza, drunk (a bit or a lot) and listened to songs that made no sense (language wise). However, since music and art know no borders, who cares about understanding the lyrics!

So we deal with Eurovision the same way people deal with football games and major sports events which is OK, I guess, as long as we don't take it...too seriously. Anyway, Greece got 7th place and I think we deserved...less.There are countries that enter the contest singing songs in their own language. This year Greece participated with a song taken right out of a Britney Spears/Michael Jackson/Madonna concert which-is great on its own but-has nothing to do with Greek culture and our image as a country. So instead of showing you our song for the contest, I'll give you my favorite one...Patricia Kaas sang in french, put her soul and wonderful voice in it and the outcome is a simple and yet magnificent presentation of a song that touches you in many ways! Enjoy...

Take care you all and have a wonderful week :)

I watched it all in UK with my family- great entertainment. We were amazed at how your singer managed to stay on that lifting platform- he's very athletic, isn't he? Thank you Greece for giving us 'douze points' :) Guess who I voted for...Patricia Kaas- France! (I also like Moldova and of course our beautiful Jade x)

Cinnamon: "Twelve points go to...UK" of course. Her voice was just amazing!! Oh and Sakis (our singer) is quite the man...athletic and gorgeous indeed ;) lol

A family thing introduced by my mom, although it became a bit "political" with the votes. Not saying that because patricia kass didn't win, lol.I just wanted that next year would be in Paris, cause wanted to bring my mom over.I couldn't when it was in Greece, although you know she's the woman with a greek heart, lol. But nevermind.Have to say that the russians have done a bloody great show.Mafia has invest a lot of money here, lol.Must have been fun to attend this.Have a great day sweet Marianna :)

Candie: I wished for P.Kaas to win as well. The song was incredible imo! Well you never know maybe someday France will get its turn and your mum will be able to come :)

I have not heard of Eurovision before this nor knew it was such a craze. Seems like the response we in the US get to Super Bowl Sunday.
The clip was great.

this is not something aired in the states..not even on British Television, so i don't know what it is all about. She has a unique voice and the little dance at the end was ...also unique...
