Beginning

I'm all in for new beginnings. However this was not always the case. I remember when I was really really young, 5 or 6 years old, my mother and father would bring me a new pair of shoes or trousers and I would throw it away! I would cry and say "it doesn't fit, I want my old trousers!!". I always found this...aspect of my childhood character interesting, like the way I loved the old one, the one I 'knew' and resented anything new that came my way...

If you ask me now I'll say "new is good, old...bad"! I've come a long way that's for sure. When I think about my old habits I realise that small children are like everything small that comes into this life. They are fragile and scared and hide at the site of anything or anyone new. Take a small kitten for example and the way it hides if you leave it into a room it doesn't 'know'. That is the thing with children. They see things with their own eyes, taking their time to explore, touch, feel something. Once we grow up though we know what to expect, we know that life has so many many things to offer...thus we wanna experience EVERYTHING!

Happy TT everyone. Check all the new beginnings here :)

Take care
peace and love
xoxo

i remember throwing a fit when it came time to throw out my favorite shirt. nevermind it was too small. new clothes never felt right..all stiff and starchy. so i understand where you are coming from. hope you have a great day!

Oh I just want Celine's dress! (and the body to go into it) . . I always liked new stuff but I remember Clare being given a gorgeous new bike for her birthday and she threw the most enormous tantrum because she loved her old tricycle! Kids, can't kill em, can't give 'em away.

Alan: Thank you. Glad you liked it :)

Brian: Nice to know I was not the only one! You were one of us lol

Baino: That's right. She must have loved that old bike though :)

My guys always liked their old soft tee's best. Just like you, they hated the new stuff.

Lovely thoughts for TT.

Marianna, as kids we were reluctant to learn about "change". We didn't fully comprehend new beginnings 'til we got a bit older. But you're right in that the older we got, the more we did want to explore all that was around us. And most of us will continue to do so, yes? Nice post! PEACE and HUGS :)

This is very interesting, it's something I've thought about. You're right about children--although to some extent, I still haven't outgrown this tendency to hang on desperately to the old!

My daughter wears rags, she doesn't see them as such! My boy, a close second.
I remember being very busy, when I was a child, giving everything away!
See you on the screen soon again...

You know I must be related to Benjamin Button because as a child I loved changed but now as I'm getting older...change is quickly becoming very hard for me. Not good trait for a military wife. Great Post!

I am QUITE resistant to change and NEW things but then....every here and there I like to buy a glitzy bobble or bag!!
WHOA! Check out Celine and THAT dress!!

insightful post. I, too, loved my "old" things better than the "new," something that I carried into adulthood. Thanks.
