This past week...

...the case is that for us Greek teachers it is an exam period (as I'm sure the same goes for many other colleagues abroad:). So this means hours in front of the computer, trying to figure out the perfect exercises for my students (ones that are both easy and complicated, valid and objective blah blah blah). Then there comes the grading part which is hard, considering that it is summer time and you wanna go to the beach and drink a mojito instead! Surprise, surprise your students wanna do that too (minus the mojito, hopefully:), so they didn't pay much attention in class and now you gotta figure out how to grade a paper, so that the particular child will have...a nice holiday with the parents and not a "you're going to summer school!!" one...

Apart from all the work (which is almost over), the week went from great (over the weekend) to something I'm still trying to recover from, get over, understand, forgive (or not)...

Something, that I can't call "person", poisoned our 10 year old dog. Flox has been a member of our family, keeping company to my grandma in our village, protecting the house from strangers and above all he was a good friend. I still can't believe that this happened in a neighbourhood filled with dogs (in every house), where people are around all kinds of animals every day...

While reading some blog posts this week, I found a meme on Leah's wonderful blog, an "I love-I hate" one...it said something about "most hated person". Well it is needless to say that the person I hate most right now is the one that did this to our dog...

"The Scientist" by Coldplay, cause I feel like crying...

PS My fellow bloggers I'm sorry I missed out on Theme Thursday and haven't been able to read your posts! I'll try to catch up over the weekend and play along next week! Wish you all to have a great weekend!

Peace and love
xoxo

There are some sick people out there. And I can see why you would hate this person, I hate this person for harming an innocent animal. Who cares if he was a wrongway barking dog. I hope that you will all someday find another dog to love just as much. There are many out there with no one to love them. Oh and I hope this person is eaten up by guilt and someday you can all forgive him, but in the meantime I hope this person suffers.

God bless Flux and all of you who loved him.

Oh Marianna, I love my dog. She's part of the family, my third child. Are you sure she was poisoned and didn't maybe eat a rat bait or something? If she was, that is just awful. Inhumane and so sad for you.

Like Baino, I hope that her poisoning was a by product of another intent. Not that it makes her loss any easier. A pox upon somenone who want to poison a dog and a 10 year old one at that. They are ususally so mellow by that age. Blessing to you both.

If it was intentional, that is a tough one to forgive. So sorry to hear about Flox. Dogs are beloved members of the family- what a terrible thing to happen.

And what a stress to be under, what with all your marking and grading.

Hope you have a holiday to look forward to x

Such wonderful people you all are!

Brian: Thank you for your comment. Means a lot :)

Mrsupole: deep down inside I wish that no human hand did this...so I can keep having faith in people. Thank you :)

Baino: Thanks for the support! I too wish that it was something he ate...or maybe that it was old age. But the outcome is the same...

Ronda: Thank you for your support and thoughtful comment:)

Candie: Thank you sweetie, it is terrible indeed. We are just trying to recover from it. I guess we'll never fully understand what happened :(

Cinnamon: Thank you for your sweet comment. the truth is that my holiday is planned for the last week of this month so...yes I have something to look forward to :)

Marianna, I am so deeply sorry about your dog. I completely understand, as I am a person who loves dogs in that way too.

I hope you're doing a little bit okay today!

Marianna, so sorry to hear about what happened, hope u're feeling better now and recover soon, what happened is histroy already and there's nothing we can do about it, so maybe we can see it in another way, if i were u, i'll picture Flox is enjoying his new life with other dogs up on heaven and that THING is suffering from its own poison because that THING is just too stupid and forgot to put on a glove and IT ate the poison afterward!! Anyway, be strong and cheer up soon, i'm sure Flox don't want to see u sad...

Tony: Hey there and thank you so much for the support. Unfortunately I don't think we'll ever have a clear picture of what happened :(

Hi Marianna,

I am shamelessly promoting a project at my website for everyone to see.

Just click on my name and then I will also ask if you will join me to shamelessly join in and promote it too. The more who join, the more shamelessness for us all. This should be fun for everyone and we are doing something good.

God bless.

Hi Marianna--I'm so sorry I am just now getting caught up with you, at your blog.
I am so, so sorry! Your dog, Flox was gorgeous, and I think the "opposite-way-barking" thing sounds adorable.
I hope his death was NOT caused by a deliberate poisoning--if so, that person should be severely punished; there is no excuse for such an atrocity. Of course, even a "natural" death is still a terrible loss, but at least it wouldn't feel like someone personally robbed you of sweet "Flox". In any case, my prayers and thoughts are with you, as you heal. God Bless You and your sweet Yia-Yia, too.
