My home is my castle (overused I know...but so Theme Thursday)!!

Aloha dear bloggers and hope you enjoy your Thursday and everyday before and after that lol

So happy that I can finally play along and participate in today's theme! All is well and let the stories begin!

Once upon a time there was a little castle...

It was called the "river castle" because of its location. Its walls were strong, thick and kept its owners out of harms way. Word has it that during the crusades it was created by people from Genova (Italy) who came and conquered the area of Thrace (Greece) during the 4th crusade. Another story mentions that the castle was used to protect barons and other important people from raids during the 13th Century...

In 2009 this castle 'strangles' to survive in the world that we build around it. A world that doesn't stand still to listen to the history that these walls have to offer...

This is the story of my hometown's little castle...a castle neglected by governments and archaeologists today. People in cars pass it by, they don't stop to give it a second look. I thought I should learn a bit about it and pay a tribute to its history...that way this castle (what's left of it) will be remembered by us and will forever live in our little (but still big) blog sphere...

Pay a visit to the other castles here :)
